The line had been drawn, and the gauntlet had been thrown down. Several months had past since Eryk had the shocking revelation that he had a half-brother. His half-brother, who referred to himself mysteriously only as 'Zero', had tried to kill Eryk, whom he blamed for the terrible life he had lived, stuck living in Eryk's shadow. Not only that, Zero blamed Eryk and the Jedi for the destruction of Cardia and its Imperial training academy which had become Zero's only real family. The two brothers had fought each other on the planet of Haruun Kal, with Eryk at a disadvantage having only just finished a lengthy period of training in the unique and deadly Vaapad form of lightsaber combat. It was this furious new lightsaber form which ultimately lead Eryk to victory. Zero escaped in his Headhunter, but not before promising to return and finish what he had started… the destruction of Eryk and the Jedi.
That time had now come. Eryk knew that Zero would strike again, but when and how, he did not know. The waiting was excruciating, not knowing when Zero would return to finish what he had started on Haruun Kal, or what chaotic plan he had devised to do so. It had come as a shock to Eryk, therefore, when he was informed of Zero's plan ahead of time, by none other than Zero himself. The fact that Zero had easily managed to get in contact with Eryk was worrying enough. Zero had called Eryk out for a final confrontation on the smuggler's moon of Nar Shaddaa. There they would face each other one final time, and the last one standing would thereby decide if the galaxy would keep its hero, or become mired in darkness.
Eryk boarded his ship immediately and traveled directly to Nar Shaddaa. Of course, this meeting was likely to be a trap, or at least there was probably more to it than what Zero had already announced. Despite this, Eryk had to go; Zero had to be stopped at all costs, before innocent people were hurt. However, Eryk had come to realise a dangerous truth. He had had an inkling of it before, but it was not until he had seen a Force created vision on Dagobah when Eryk finally understood the problem. Eryk was unsure whether he would be able to kill Zero when the time came. Even though Zero was evil and a dangerous user of the dark side of the Force, Eryk was unsure whether he could slay his own flesh and blood, and what's worse, Zero knew it too, and would no doubt use that fact to gain the advantage. Would Eryk be able to do what needed to be done? Would he be able to stop Zero this time? Would he be able to do the unthinkable and take the life of his own half-brother? It seemed only time would tell, and that time was fast approaching.
The Novalis touched down on one of the many docking pads in one of the many spaceports of the smuggler moon. Crowds of people and alien species bustled around, going about their daily business. Large ships and cruisers filled the sky as they took onboard passengers and supplies. This docking bay was a busy place. Luckily, Zero had requested this meeting be held somewhere more private, in an abandoned hanger on the outskirts of this particular spaceport. There they would be able to end things without fear of interruption. As Eryk made his way to the given co-ordinates he spotted Zero's personal Z-95 Headhunter parked close to the side of a medium sized hanger. Outside the hanger Eryk was faced with the first of what would turn out to be many unpleasant surprises. On the ground was the body of a dead spaceport security guard, cut down with a lightsaber. It seemed Zero was serious when he said he wanted this to be a privately solved matter. Any thoughts of turning back were now gone. Zero could not be allowed to continue doing whatever he wanted and killing innocent people. Taking a deep breath, Eryk entered through a small metal doorway and into the hanger.
