The casino Rani had the lead the Jedi to was grand in its size and nature. The casino itself was part of a much larger resort complex, all inside a massive space station which orbited an undisclosed planet. Eryk wondered exactly what kind of sway Rani had here, but he seemed to be allowed free access to amny parts of the complex.
Their flight to the station had been interesting to say the least. Rani had turned down Eryk's offer to spend the journey in a bacta tank, instead wishing to try and heal himself naturally. This would also allow the men more time to talk on the matters at hand, and talk they did. Eryk had reiterated his stance that Rani had been misguided in his service to the Sith and that if he wished it, Eryk could show him a new and better path, one which could help him take control over his mental problems and one that was not too late to start to walk down. Eryk also voiced his concerns over the Sith Order's ability to use the fledgling rebellion in order to find the Jedi. If such a thng was true, then the Jedi were no longer safe. More than that, it meant that helping the rebellion was not as viable an option as it once was. Eryk did not want to abandon his friends in the rebellion, but he had a duty to the Jedi. He hoped that this continuing conversation with Rani would help him see things clearer.
The three men sat down at Rani's makeshift table inside the casino's renevated lobby as Rani laid out his thoughts.
"If you're going to fix this mess, you're going to need my help. And we're going to need a plan."
"You are right, we will need your help", Eryk said, continuing the conversation. "After all, you are the only one who can help us cut the information links the Sith have to the rebellion. Once they are cut the Jedi will no longer be in the open. However, if the Jedi are to truely remain safe from enemy eyes, they will also need to no longer be seen as the Rebellion's own personal army. The Jedi have always tried to be impartial, though it does not look it. We are peacekeepers, not soldiers. We protect people and keep them from harm, but we can not fight a war for them. Though the Rebellion is worthy of the Jedi's aid and are in desperate need of our guidance, our continual connection together has negative affects for us both."
Eryk paused for a moment."Rani, if you are willing to help us then you must consider this offer to allow me to help you in return. Let me teach you the light side of the Force. It might be difficult but ultimately you might find it leads you to answers you seek."
