One week ago...
The view; spectacular, the mood; promising, the purpose; fulfilling, the energy; contagious, the purpose; science and battle. Atop the highest pinnacle of the
seat of Imperial power on Vulpter the master minds and people who helped bring this day about were gathered. Each a master of their class and each hand picked
by the commodore himself to do their duty to the Empire. From the battle field to the laboratories, all of them had come together to form a team capable of
doing horrendous things, but great things - oh so great things. All of this was for the Empire. Each and every one of them had been tested and tested tenfold
again to be sure of their loyalties. If any of them were to turn traitor the months spent in the deep core would have been for nothing. The projects would have
to be scraped and the people...disposed of. But none of this had happened. Six months had gone by and the projects had steamrolled forward, towards the future.
And that future was of a brighter Empire. A day where the glories of the past would be meshed with the glories of the future. Surrounded by the darkness of
pre-dawn sun pouring forth from the windows that surrounded them; there was a sense of purpose and completion as each of them sat in their assigned seats,
awaiting the commodore to start the beginning of a new dawn. High above in orbit lights were winking in and out as the latest addition to the Imperial fleet
was completed.
The commodore sat in his chair, staring out into the darkness. His mood was ever the same and never changing. Only in battle was his true heart revealed and
his passion made bare for all to see. He wore his customary armor, resplendent as ever, a black cape upon his shoulders. On one shoulder guard was the symbol
of the Empire, the opposite the symbol of the navy. The deep crimson of the suite boldly rang out against the whites and greys of the navy. He was one of them
and yet he was not. From a time of sundering to a time of greatness to a time of a new dawn. He had been with them for so long and seen so much. His hair was
cropped short and his face was chiseled, a face that showed no mercy towards his enemies but a passion unborn by others towards his Empire. To those that did
not know him he was an imposing site of fear and might but those that did know him, the few and loyal knew him like no other and cherished that. To the
commodores immediate back where the two remaining remnants of a time long since past. They were hulking brutes, capable of untold damage. Easily able to best a
hundred men in combat they were monsters feared by all. Similar to the Dark Trooper project these were the Fists of Iron. The bodyguard of the commodore. Where
he went they went and non dared attempt to take the life of the commodore. Unlike everyone else present they were armed to the teeth with weapons. In one
gauntlet they had their deadly assault cannons. Monstrous and extreme these were simply over powered shotguns, perfect for taking down multiple targets in
confined spaces. They cared not if they hit the wrong person, as long as their original target lay in a pool of blood. On their opposite hand they held their
massive vibro axes. The blades were easily four feet long and each were laid with intricate symbols, a tie to a much old time period. The shafts of the axe
could be extended or retracted and for now they were extended to their full amount, making it more into a halberd than an axe. Their armor mimicked the style
of the commodore but on a much larger scale. Each one wore a helmet similar in style to the storm troopers of the army but the intake and exhale grill were
extended slightly to give it a more menacing look. Their armor was the color of the darkest void with the symbols of the Empire and Navy worked into their
armor.
To the commodore's right was his second in command. Second Lieutenant Voss mirrored his commander in his manners, up tight and the steriotypical man of the
navy. His face and mannerisms were not in any way striking. He was a man of the Navy and that was about it. His life revolved around it and his passion was
like a well oiled machine. Ever faithfull and loyal, Second Lieutenant Voss was the go between for the commodore. His uniform was always crisp and clean and he
showed no personal side of himself. The commodore hadn't even seen anything personal in the years since he was transfered to his command. Voss however was
just as important a member to the group as any. His skills in information and his ability for organization were unparallelled. To the right of Voss was a
holoprojector of the local inhabitant that acted as their leader. Councilman Vot. Loved by the people he was the perfect leader for them. Under his leadership
the people had prospered and grown to heights they had never known. When the commodore had first come to the system it was a wasteland. Now it was lush with
life and prosperity. Though it would still take many more years for things to grow back the steps, no the leaps and bounds, that had been made were monumental.
With Vot as the figure head of Imperial power on Vulpter the people had been more then willing. With such show of patriotism the commodore had rewarded the
people with vasts improvements to the system as a whole. There were jobs, there were houses and most of all there was the pure joy of being one with the
Empire.
To the left of the commodore was Doctor Raven. One of the oldest allies that the commodore had. It was he who had devised the concept of Project Death Seed and
it was he who created the technology that was vital for Project Maximus. Though he was unkempt and wore the same lab coat it seemed almost every day his mind
was brilliant. Though age was showing in his frame and in his hair his mind was always active. Even at a time such as this, the beginning of a new dawn, the
Doctor was still writing things down within his datapad. To the right of the Doctor was Doctor Elizabeth Kale. A voluptuous and ravishing woman. Loved by all
her beauty was something spoken to not out of lust but out of beauty. Her mind parralled that and with Doctor Raven they had made leaps and bounds within the
fields of technology in such a short amount of time. Though she was a scientist she wore a simple yet refiened working outfit, a skirt at the right length, and
a jacket mirrioring that of the women of the Navy. However the colors were soft and easy to look at. Though she was for all intensive purposes apart of the
Navy she was something else. In the center of the table lay a holoprojector. Its screen dark and cold. Its purpose yet to be revealed. Giddeon allowed them all
to sit and enjoy the moment. They had waited a long time for this.
Friends, comrades, it has been a long time, a very long time indeed, since we have all been together in a singular spot. Our work has
driven us to new heights of passion and the fruits of our labors shall soon be revealed to the rest of the galaxy. You all have played a vital part in bringing
about a new age for the Empire. Your skills are unparalleled and your abilities have never been matched. I thank you friends. I thank you for your diligence,
your passion, your strive to make the Empire a better place. These past six months have been a brutal mess of sleepless nights, of failures and successes but
that all pales in comparison to this day. This day my friends is the beginning of a new dawn. A new dawn for the Empire. A new dawn for being-kind. Today we
shall beging a journey that will take us to the ends of the galaxy and back in the name of the Empire. Today we bring with us the power to make the Empire the
rightful rulers of the galaxy. Today we shall throw down that which has blinded us and rise up together as one. Today is the day we have been counting down to.
Doctor Raven if you will?
The Doctor stood up and put away his datapad. For once he was in control of himself but the commodore suspected that Lady Kale had given him something to calm
his mind. Yes, yes of course Commodore. Turning he addressed the group as a whole. My fellow comrades we
have worked untold hours to make this day happen. We have lost and we have gained, yes we have gained. In the name of science we have done things that no one
else could have! We have created a weapon so powerful it can cut through the hull of a ship like it was paper. We have made it possible to take down any ship
in the galaxy with but a push of a button. We have brought a new weapon of war to the playing field my comrades and today we shall unveil it on its chariot. To
go with this new weapon we have created an even greater weapon. One that combines the power of the human spirit, the drive of the human spirit, the will and
loyalty of the human spirit, with that of a machine. With that the Doctor pressed a button and the holoprojector came to life. Before the group was a
projection of a human teen no more then fifteen. Were it not for the vast amounts of cables going into his body he might have had the beginnings of a handsome
man. That however would pale in comparrison to his abilities. Commodore, Sir! The projection said. At ease
Flight Commander. Status report on your wings? The projection paused for a moment as information flowed into his head from the various cables and wiring
plugged into his brain. Sir, All six wings report that they are ready sir! We await your command to fly for the Empire!
That is excellent Flight Commander. You shall recieve your orders soon. Until then be prepared to fly. As
you order sir! The holoprojection cut out, replaced by that of the symbol of the Empire.
Lady Kale? The commodore questioned. Her statement was of course next in line. Commodore all four hundred
and thirty two pilots are ready. I have seen to it personally that each pilot has passed all of the tests and each pilot is as loyal to the Empire as the next
one. They look to you for leadership and they have all be altered to reflect their abilites required of them from the Empire. Excellent Lady Kale. Are you ready to lead your charges for the Empire? Kale was taken a back but she quickly recovered her composure.
Of course I am Commodore. It would be the highest honor to lead my charges that I have seen grow into what they have become.
Then it is settled Lady Kale. Giddeon turned to address the rest of the group. Now it seems that everyone
here has been updated with the progress we have made it is now time to usher in a new dawn for the Empire. Without further words Giddeon stood up from
his chair and the two guards behind him came to attention. Turning Giddeon walked to the glass and put his gently behind his back. The rest of the room
followed suit until they were all looking out the window. It was only after a few moments that Giddeon spoke, breaking the silence as a knife breaks through
skin. My comrades, my friends, my colleagues, this is the time, this is the moment. This is when the Empire truely becomes a power to be
reckon with once again. For to long we have been a force that was laughed at. That period of time is no more. Upon this day, upon this dawn we shall help bring
the Empire back up off her kness and carry her into the future. As Giddeon spoke the sun crested the mountain range and cast its glow down across the
valley. As it did so the full might of Project Death Seed came flying from the sun out across the valley in a tight formation, perfect and resplendent in their
crimson fighters. All of them watched in fasination at the abilities of the pilots. Though this was not the first time any of them had seen Project Death Seed
it was the first time that all of the Project was flying as one. As each squadron passed the tower they tipped their wings in unison as a salute to those that
had given them so much. The two Fists of Iron as well as Giddeon returned the salute in time to each of them.
Lady Kale? Giddeon didn't waver from his stance, keeping his eyes pealed to the fighters moving about the valley. Each one was
about the size of a Tie-Defender however slightly larger and they held a very similar appearance. Each fighter held more armor and more shielding then a normal
Tie-Defender however it was balanced out with a someone decreased overall speed in comparison. Extra maneuvering thrusters strategical positioned throughout
the ship made it more then agile in close combat. Each one was armed to the teeth with two high powered laser cannons as well as two warhead launchers. All of
the ships were painted a deep crimson to represent the New Dawn and all had the symbol of the Empire and Navy emblazoned across their hulls. Giddeon could not
help but feel a sense of pride watching his idea come to life before his eyes. Yes Commodore? Lady I find
that Project Death Seed is no longer a fitting term. They are no longer a Project any more. Would you care to give them a new name? Of course Commodore. I had a feeling that you would require me to do so. She pressed a button so that the entire Project could hear her.
Attention all pilots of Project Death Seed. The Commodore and myself see it fitting that you shall have a new name. One that shall go
down in the history of the Empire as the Emperor's most loyal subjects, warriors and most of all son's. In your creation a small amount of genetics
from the Emperor Palpatine were given to you to hieghten your senses to a new level. It is only fitting that since the blood of Palpatine runes through your
viens that you shall be hence forth named the Son's of the Emperor. Carry the name with you to battle, carry it to you when you sleep, carry it with you
until your last breath. You shall not fail us Son's of the Emperor. A cry of huzah's and cheers came through the vox as each pilot acknowledged
their new meaning in life as one. Closing the link the Lady turned to the commodore and smiled. I believe they are ready
Commodore. As do I Lady Kale. Giddeon stood there and watched the formations of fighters come about and return to a single
mass before they did one last fly by across the front of the tower before returning to their base deep within the mountains.
