Kal Strife
Alignment: The Corporate Sector Authority
Species: Corellian
The Good
Lovers-
Closest Friends-
Aida Khan - More than a friend, though fate has conspired to prevent them from reaching the next step of any relationship. Kal and Aida became extremely close during his first tenure in the New Republic, and only the abrupt reappearance of Janus prevented their friendship from becoming far more. However, some things are inevitable and, eventually, the two were reunited as Kal struggled to rally the few remaining Republican leaders who remained loyal to the original ideals of the New Republic. This time, no dark forces emerged to force them apart and the two were finally able to admit to themselves that their feelings for one another went far beyond mere friendship.
Karin S'jet - An advanced Human Replica Droid, created slightly under five years ago, whose ability to mimic humans is so great that Kal suspects that sometimes even she forgets she isn't really one. Karin found herself forced to ally herself with Kal during the Droid Rebellion of 25 ABY when a renegade droid force on Etti IV decided that her mimicry of humans made her both a traitor and a threat. Their friendship, forged in the fires of that conflict, has gone from strength to strength and she now serves as commander of Kal's personal corvette, the newly re-christened Eisenstein.
Allies-
Luther Hark and Rosaria Thorn - Viceprexes of the Corporate Sector. During the time Kal spent working within the other factions of the galaxy, Luther and Rosaria were responsible for monitoring the actions of his successors and ensuring that they didn't deviate too far from the directives that Kal had lain. It was these two, along with the late Viceprex Etan Ven, who were responsible for Kal's return to the Corporate Sector.
Friendly Rivalry-
Acquaintances -
Eryk Aiden - The Grand Master of the Jedi Order, and one of the few Jedi whom Kal has any respect for. Despite the predominently pacifistic beliefs of the Jedi Order, Eryk has displayed a proud fighting spirit that reminds Kal of himself, albeit a few years past, and the Corellian believes that the young Jedi could eventually be of great use.
Locount Lazrus - Following Kal's defection from the Empire, his friendship with the Imperial Vizier has faded. This became particularly clear on the battlefield of Rhen Var, where Kal lead an elite commando unit on a mission to capture Locount. Though the mission failed and the Corellian was forced to retreat before Imperial reinforcements overwhelmed his vastly depleted forces, it seems likely that the Imperials will not be quick to forget the slight.
Kain Fenix - Onetime Moff of the Coruscant Sector, Kain defected to the Shadow Order sometime around 22 ABY. After working with the Shadows throughout the reign of Jacen Organa Solo, Kain was sent to Hapes to serve as an advisor to the young Lady Regent, Raine Strife. It was there, in the palace at Ta'a Chume'Dan, that Kal first met Fenix, and he quickly came to respct the knowledgeable albino. Unfortunately, since Raine's departure from Hapes and Tenel Ka Djo ascension to the Hapan throne, Kain appears to have vanished from the face of the galaxy.
The Bad
Hatred-
Izaak von Schwartzkrieg, et al - A nigh-on immortal Sith Lord who was responsible for the corruption of the New Republic and the dawn of a new era of strife and entropy. Seeing this as a direct threat to his own dreams of an orderly (and profitable!) galaxy, Kal has vowed to purge the Sith and his minions from the face of the galaxy.
Rani Churs - The onetime Dark Lord of the Sith has earned Kal's wrath on countless occasions, facing him in battle perhaps a half dozen times in the past two years. His interference in the friendship of Kal and Aida Khan almost caused his death on Ziost, and the his most recent encounter with Kal - when his trading fleet was raided by Espos - was hardly any friendlier.
Salem Norongachi - Onetime Prex, now fallen to the Sith. His path has crossed Kal's numerous times, often resulting in Salem suffering some form of injury or indignation. Kal has been known to think of Salem as something of a pest, but has also gone out of his way to help the younger man. However, Salem's failure to safeguard the CSA in Kal's absence left the Corellian with no alternative but to turn on his onetime friend. He quickly set about capturing him and, after a brief conversation, froze the former Prex in carbonite. Currently, the carbonite block containing Norongachi hangs in the ExO's office in the Corporate Spire on Etti IV, serving as a pointed reminder of the price of failing Kal Strife.
Deadly Rivalry-
Jay Mertaal - The leader of the BSP, and thus a man often encountered by the Corellian. They have entered battle multiple times, but have also been forced to work together against common enemies such as the Yevethans and IG-88's insurrectionist droids. The relationship has grown more bitter following the destruction of Nedjiv at Kal's hand.
Lore - The man formerly known as Darth Lore has been a near-constant presence in Kal's later life, having undergone Stormtrooper training with him and encountering him several times afterward. Their rivalry briefly took a deadly twist, with Kal and Lore dying atop an exploding Corvette on Nar Shaddaa. However, following the emergence of Kal's clone and Lore's apparent resurrection, their rivalry apparently cooled into a simmering (but fortunately non-lethal) hatred.
Bitter Exes -
Annoyances -
Deyrdeyth - The cyborg has been involved in a number of the Corellian's plots against the BSP, often foiling them unexpectedly.
And the Family
Raine Strife - Kal's sister, and only surviving relative. She is one of the few people Kal will open up to, though even she has grown frustrated with his constant attempts at protecting others from himself. They haven't encountered one another since Raine joined forces with Talon Karrde, shortly after the siblings were ambushed by a Dark Jedi on Rhen Var.
Raaine Strife - A clone of Raine Strife, created by Tarkor almost half a decade ago. Posessed of a darker, more cynical personality than her template, Raaine is more often in agreement with Kal than Raine. Kal is currently uncertain of her location, as she vanished from the Empire shortly before he did. He is also uncertain as to how he should deal with her now that he knows her creator was a pawn of the Dark Benefactor.
