From the viewscreen of the Vigilant, the leading vessel, Eryk could see a mass of differnt types of ship, all firing constantly at the station, which was firing back in return. Both the station and the other ships seemed to be taking heavy damage. Amongst those ships attacking Centerpoint Station Eryk could see Imperial Star Destroyers. It seemed a lot of governments were after the erradication of Sal-Solo's powerhouse. "We shall protect the others", ordered the Vice-Admiral. "Target Centerpoint's weapon systems and take them offline. Also, see if any of our allies need medical attention, and inform the med-bay to stand by. Remember, try to remain anonymous for as long as possible. We don't want to attract unwanted attention to ourselves. As soon as the station is destroyed, get us clear." Eryk nodded in agreement and returned to watching the battle which raged outside. For the sake of peace, this situation needed to be resolved soon. With the orders relayed to the other two ships, the corvettes moved into attack range and began their mission.

Posts: 559 (06/16/08 21:55:49) Grand Vizier Narcissistic Battle Mod Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	As one, the imperial fleet had left the surreal and chaotic realm of hyperspace, the large collection of imperial might now coming face to face with the threat that had lead to their deployment to this system and to this operation. There, hanging in the cold void of space, the absolutely titanic form of Centerpoint station faced the forces of the galactic empire, their target. The empire was used to fighting; it had been born from war and had fought small wars and battles in order to prove its worth as the successor to the republic. Yet here there was a force which the imperials rarely ever faced, a force which would not easily fold under the weight of their weapon's barrage, here was a force that would test the imperials for their worth. "Centerpoint station....", spoke the reserved tones of the Admiral. Both he and the Captain stood beside the view port of the bridge, looking out towards the space station that was main target. Looking at the size of the structure, the old Admiral felt somewhat humbled at sheer dimensions of the structure. He had never faced such an awesome show of might before, and even he felt within his gut that their remaining force was not up to the task. "Pretty big, must be about half a fleet in there", spoke the Captain beside the other naval officer. Looking to his side, the Admiral saw the Captain looking at the station with an apprising look. The Admiral could not believe it, the Captain seemed to not be aware of the power or strength of their opponent, merely looking at it like some great floating scrap heap. While the older officer guessed that that was the ultimate fate of the station now once, if, the station was subdued, to voice such beliefs now still annoyed the officer deep down, the man was not giving their enemy proper thought. "Rebel forces spotted on the far side of the station sir, seems to be a sizeable fleet", came a sudden flat tone. The Admiral turned around to see one of the junior officers standing just behind the two men, still saluting. He turned his head as he saw a darkly happy look quickly wash over the Captain's face, like a predator looking for prey, and suddenly the words sank into the officer's head. "Keep an eye on them officer, but have all craft focus on the station. Take out any weapons or defences that we find, but look for any docking bays to flush out and land in, that's the only way we are getting into this fortress", spoke the Admiral slowly. The junior officer saluted and turned to the Captain who only waved him off after a second's hesitation. The Captain then looked at the older officer with a more than curious glance to his face. "You're not going to pursue the rebels? We can surely send the fighters to deal with them", spoke the Captain looking a bit deflated. The Admiral looked at the Captain, he felt flat, had the newer recruits really been pushed to deal with the rebels even under circumstances. The older officer turned to face the view port once again and saw one of the taskforces leading the push on the station. "No, the rebels can wait. SalSolo needs to be dealt with before anything, if we are still a fighting force after that, maybe then, maybe, we can then deal with the rebels", spoke the Admiral diplomatically. He did not want the additional duty with dealing with the rebels after this, the fleet was already damaged enough and we wanted to make sure they could gain and hold, or destroy the station before he had to deal with normal battles with the rebels.

However, fortune appeared to smile on the Corellian, and within a few short minutes of departing the chambers of the now-deceased ruler of Centerpoint, he found himself in a farily large throughfare which he recognised from his previous journey. Heartened by that stroke of luck, he set off with renewed haste, moving at a near-sprint toward the hanger bay. As he moved, Strife warily eyed the alcoves and side passages that hurtled by, wondering how long it would be before someone questioned his presence. Before someone discovered Thracken's fate. Fortunately, Lady Luck appeared to have taken a shine to the oft-unlucky Corellian, and the crew of Centerpoint appeared too caught up in their own affairs to question him. Understandable really, considering the fleets that were knocking at their door. Still, that wasn't to say that everything went Strife's way. The door to the hanger bay, for example, was sealed as tightly as any on Imperial Center, forcing the Corellian to skid to a halt beside one of the few operational monitoring terminal. Quickly, knowing full well that he could be discovered at any moment, he punched up the hanger bay, checking if it had been breached, before deactivating the door lock and ducking beneath the slowly opening blast door. Beyond, two of Thracken's lackies stood guard, but he wasted no time on either; without even slowing, he used the Force to slam each back against a bulkhead with bone-shattering force. With them eliminated, it was a simple matter to board his ship and call out, quite impatiently, for the pilot to take them a long, long way away. For some reason, the pilot was exceedingly quick to obey...

Brilliant, blinding starbursts filled the ebon void as the fleets poured their firepower into the ancient station, stripping away the weapons arrays and Imperial modifications with a firestorm of incredible intensity. Starfighters were everywhere, seeming to fill every inch of space that wasn't already filled with coruscating laserfire and deadly torpedoes. And yet, somehow, still Centerpoint's hull resisted them, the relic of the Rakatans showing not a scratch despite the furious bombardment. Still, more than one craft had departed - or tried to depart, rather - the station since the bombardment had begun. Most were intercepted and destroyed, with but a handful escorted into the relative safety of the fleets. And still they kept coming, like rats fleeing a sinking ship, for few beyond the most fanatical had failed to spot the writing upon the wall. And so, into the maelstrom they fled, knowing that a likely death in space was better than the death that was certain to follow if they remained upon the station. And they, perhaps, were the wise ones, for when death came for the rest it was hardly as quick as las-incineration. The mighty Star Destroyer Malice, having focused its devestating firepower upon a single point in the hull where an ancient wound had been repaired by Imperial technicians, finally broke through, the force of its guns turning meter thick mandalorian iron into little more than slush. Air howled out of the now-gaping tear in the hull, dragging with it the bodies of those unlucky enough to have been in the area when the hull gave way beneath the Star Destroyer's relentless onslaught. Alas, though the wound was grievous, it was far from enough to disabled the station, and more than one keen eye aboard the fleets noted how Centerpoint seemed to be aligning itself to engage the main weapon. Unfortunately for Thracken's dogs, the time required to do so would be denied them. A single XJ X-wing, it's hull bearing countless kill counters, including two that appeared almost spherical, came swooping down toward the shattered hull segment. Blackened marks, the result of many a close encounter with point-defence lasers, scored the starfighter's hull, the targeting array hung loose and useless. But still it came on, aligning manually for the impossible shot. Only at the last possible moment did it fire, before twisting away and heading back toward the flagship for repairs and rearming. The torpedo, the snubfighter's very last, flashed down toward the station, skewing off course and then, almost miraculously, twisting back onto a perfect flightpath as invisible hands guided it home, through the tear in the hull and into the unprotected interior of the station where it detonated with catastrophic force against one of the many generators installed during the reconstruction process. The explosion was titanic, enough to shake even Centerpoint, but alone it wouldn't have been enough. As it happened, however, it was far from alone; Malice, its commander spying the damage that a lone fighter had inflicted upon its prey, unleashed around bombardment into the wound, adding unimaginable amounts of energy to the explosive reaction already underway. Almost instantly, a chain reaction began to take place, with explosions racing through the corridors beneath the impenetrable hull of the ancient station. Blast Doors, installed by the Empire, melted before the force of the explosions, allowing a firestorm to race through the station's interior, annihilating all it came in contact with. It would take hours for the devastation to end, but that, in truth, was the end of it. According to procedure, they were in a warzone. The hatch burst open after a moment, and Shadows streamed onto the planet's surface, sabers blazing and rifles shouldered. It was clear that they were on a war-stricken planet, the remains of some city outskirts blasted to ruins. The city was less than two miles north, and there were no signs of life, particularly that of Lando Calrissian, in the general area. Ken reached to the corner of his helmet and pressed another button, opening a wide channel to all of the Shadows within range that were under his command for the time being. He would not be able to respond to whatever queries they might pose, but they could receive his commands unerringly. "This is Preacher Ishigami. Secure the sight and surrounding area, scout for any remaining friendly or enemy units...highest-ranking Warriors, assume command of units beneath you and contact me if survivors or enemies are located. Over and out." With these issues ordered, he pressed the first button on his helmet, returning to the closed link between units that were on the shuttle with him. "I'm heading for the command post outside city with a small unit. I want Prime Cadet, the four best riflemen, and five fastest Warriors on me. Out." With his orders issued, Ken released the DF-D1 Flechette Rifle from its secured holster against his leg and entered a brisk jog, leaving the majority of units behind him as eleven men made their way through recently-blasted ruins to what was left of the Command Base outside the city that Lando had been operating from.

Then, with a speed that might have surprised many, he drew his riot blaster and fired upon Andur, smashing him from his feet and leaving him in a dazed heap upon the ground. "Frakking offworlder. Do you think I'm an idiot?" he growled, passing his blaster to another enforcer and drawing his riot baton with every sign of malicious glee, "Do you think I don't know what a clearance code looks like?" And that, it must be said, was the last thing Andur heard for quite some time, beyond the vague grunts of exertion that issued from the Enforcer as he beat the former Imperial to within an inch of his life. Lando's Command Post, Corellia A deathly hush had descended upon the area immediately around Lando Calrissian's headquarters by the time the Shadows were moving into positions. The blasters of both sides, which had been firing unrelentingly since the conflict had begun, were quiet, silenced by a single message that had travelled along the commlines. A message that, even now, was echoing through the ears of those who had heard it. Centerpoint had fallen. The Diktat was dead. The insurrection... was over. But that didn't mean there wouldn't be work that needed to be done. Corellia was devastated, and it would be a long time before the streets of Coronet thrived with life as they once had. People would be needed to rebuild it. And people would be required to lead. People like Lando Calrissian, who emrged from his bunker to meet the Shadows, a broad smile upon his soot-streaked face. Oh yes, the insurrection was over, but the work... the work was just beginning. ~fin~

"I don't like you." he said with a snarl. "I don't care." Aegob replied gruffly as a fist headed towards him. Since he knew the Echani martial art and Teras Kasi, he was able to block. He then grabbed the man and threw him , toppling a table. The men at the table stood up mad and drunk both drawing their blasters. Aegob knew what was coming and jumped away just as a red bolt flew past his head, hitting a man sitting at a table, angering his friends. He pushed a table onto it's side, the drinks spilling onto a man angering him, but he wasn't standing for long before a blaster bolt hit him in the back. That was exactly why he did that to use the table as a shield. Bolts flying into the crowd more drunk and to tell the truth smelly put jumped up drawing their blasters or throwing a punch.
